Welcome to the Archive CD Books Ireland web site

The Archive CD Books Project exists to make reproductions of old books, documents and maps available on CD to genealogists and historians, and to co-operate with libraries, museums and record offices in providing assistance to renovate old books in their collection, and to donate books to their collections, where they will be preserved for future generations.
The Archive CD Books Project was started in England in 2000, and has now spread to several countries worldwide. Archive CD Books Ireland was established in 2005, with the aim of digitising our rich published heritage and making it available on CD-ROM. We are currently working in partnership with Trinity College Library (the largest library in Ireland) to digitise the old books in their care.

Since late 2008 Archive CD Books Ireland now incorporates the British branch of the organisation. A new British site will be established in 2009.
This service began trading in March 2005, making available thousands of books already published by our international partners, as well as new Irish books on a monthly basis. Our recent releases include:
  • P.W. Joyce, A.M. Sullivan, & P. D. Newman, Atlas & Cyclopedia of Ireland, 1905.
  • James Stuart, Historical Memoirs of the City of Armagh for a period of 1373 years, 1819
  • Royal Irish Constabulary List and Directory for 1915
  • Thom's Directory, 1894
  • J Charles Cox, Surrey, 1910.
  • John Roby, Traditions of Lancashire, 1928.
  • Pigot's National Directory of Befordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Herefordshire, Huntingdonshire, Monmouthshire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Suffolk, Wiltshire, and South Wales, 1830
